How to take a bath and exfoliate your skin to prevent acne

Bathing

Have you ever wondered whether you wash your self properly or at least adequately? We’ve all heard of the many cleansing products but what do they actually do and how beneficial are they for your body? This post is going to teach you all you need to know, Lets go through the bath process. Here are some total health and fitness tips for you.

The first thing you need to do is set the water temperature right. There’s either hot or cold, each with their own benefits:

unnamed

  • Hot is good for aches and pains, removing toxins, dirt and irritants from the skin,  relieving stress and relaxing the body
  • Cold is good for refining Hair and Skin, improving immunity and Circulation, Stimulating Weight Loss, Relieving Depression and Increasing general alertness

What I suggest is, going for a warmish temp, If 0 was cold and 10 was hot, set the water to about an 7.

Start by rinsing the whole body, every single part of your body should be moist and then apply the two main products of washing.

Shampoo

Shampoo is a type of liquid cleaning agent that is used on hair. There are different types of shampoos to suit your hair type, but the main ingredient is sodium lauryl, that kills the germs, the rest are additives that help refine it or make it smell pleasant. Shampoo works best when massaged into wet hair, it will break up deposits of oil and dirt, this should also create a lather, if it doesn’t then you will need a second application. After allowing the shampoo to set for a few minutes, it can be rinsed using warm water. Make sure you massage your scalp. Petrissage is a scalp massaging technique to stimulate blood-flow to the scalp encouraging healthy hair and scalp. If the first shampoo application doesn’t lather, rinse, then shampoo a second time but leave it in there and move on to soaping up.

Shampoo

Soap

When you look at a bar of soap, it might seem to be pretty simple — you just add water, soap up and rinse off. But hidden inside that innocuous lump are a few advantages just waiting to bubble free when you lather up.

First off, soap bars can be excellent at getting your skin clean. They lather up well, allowing the soap and water to spread across the skin and attach to the dirt and oil, and the ingredients tend to be stronger than those in non-soap bars, so they generally do a dove-beauty-bar-originalbetter job at removing dirt, oil, makeup and any other impurities. However, because those ingredients are so strong, they often remove too much oil from the skin, stripping away its moisture barrier and leading to dryness. This can also irritate sensitive skin and further aggravate certain preexisting skin conditions. So, if you prefer to stick to soap bars, many health experts recommend following up with a moisturizer to add back that necessary moisture.

Shower Gel

The other alternative is Shower Gel, sometimes referred to as body wash, it is a personal care product similar to soap which can be used to clean the body while showering. Many people prefer using gel because the product is easier to handle than bar of soap and leaves no messy soap scum residue in the shower.

Whether you choose a shower gel or soap will mostly depend on your skin type, budget, and personal preference. For instance, if you have dry skin, you may want to choose a shower gel, since bar soap is often a bit harsher and can be drying. Shower gel is generally a bit more expensive than bar soap, however, and most people tend to use more than they need, which leads to product waste. Bar soap, on the other hand, has a tendency to dissolve when it is exposed to water, which can leave a residue on shower and tub surfaces. This type of soap has also been proven to hold bacteria.

Shower Cream

Shower cream is like shower gel, but is a lot more hydrating for the skin and leaves you with smooth skin.Nivea Creme Soft Shower Cream

When using either of the above make sure you use a scrubber to really get in to the skin. Once you’ve soaped up, its time to wash everything out, start by rinsing your hair then the rest of the body. At this point your skin should be rigid, if it’s not, you’ve still got oils and toxins. So soap up once more and thoroughly clean your body.

Now that you’ve removed all oils, bacteria and toxins from your body, you can focus on your face.

Face scrub

A face scrub is an exfoliation product which has been designed specifically for use on the face. The skin on the face is more delicate than skin on other parts of the body, and because the face sees a lot of wear and tear, it requires special attention when it comes to skincare. For this reason, it is important to use scrubs marked for use on the face in facial care, rather than generic exfoliating scrubs, some of which may be too harsh for use on the face.

Scrubs work by removing dead skin, leaving behind a layer of younger, healthier skin behind. Regular use of an exfoliant can keep skin smooth and glowing, by constantly exposing new skin. Many scrubs also include moisturisers, so they nourish the skin while removing dead skin. Use of an exfoliating scrub can also remove lingering facial makeup which may not have been totally cleaned earlier.

Exfoliating

The purpose of exfoliation is to remove the dead skin cells on the outer layer of skin. An exfoliating face scrub is said to tighten the skin to help fight the aging process. Another benefit may be the acceleration of cell renewal. In general, an exfoliating face scrub can improve the texture of the skin, remove any impurities trapped in pores and combat acne. One should avoid common mistakes such as the overuse of a facial scrub which may eliminate its many benefits.

face scrubThe human skin is made up of numerous layers, and the outer layers have a tendency to become dry. At this point, the skin closest to the surface starts to shed and is replaced by new skin cells. If they are not removed, the dead skin cells stay where they are on the surface and clog up the pores, which can lead to the entire face looking dull and tired.

An exfoliating face scrub thoroughly removes these dead cells. This enab
les the new skin cells to shine through, leading to better looking skin and ensuring that the skin’s pores are reduced in size. Open pores attract dirt and can lead to acne and warts and other skin problems. This is why it is necessary to go into the shower after a thorough exfoliating session in order to remove the remaining dead skin cells. After the shower, it is important to add moisturizer to prevent the skin from drying out.

There are some products which are simply cleansers, meaning that they are intended to remove dirt and oil from the skin. Others are simply exfoliants, which means that they are intended to buff the skin and remove dead skin cells. An exfoliating cleanser is a combination of the two and offers the benefits of both products.

Before going to exfoliate your skin make sure that it is clean shaved or trimmed.

Conditioner

Hair conditioner is a hair care product that is applied after shampooing in order to condition the hair. Its purpose is to condition the hair by restoring moisture, albeit artificially, and smoothing the cuticles of the hair follicles. It is most useful for people with dry or damaged hair, as people with naturally oily hair may find conditioner weighs their hair down rather than improves the overall look and feel of it. There are a wide range of hair conditioning products, including those you rinse out, leave in, or spray on.

So once you’ve rinsed out all the shampoo, apply a small amount of conditioner on your hair and let it sink in for a good five minutes or if you’re really patient, 10 mins is ideal. Using your fingers massage your scalp and work the conditioner on to your roots rather than hair. Once the five minutes are up rinse out the conditioner, make sure you do this thoroughly. To finish use cold water which will close the cuticles, resulting in shine and give your hair bounce.

What about feet

A pumice stone — a small block of lightweight, hardened lava foam — sloughs off tough, dry skin and dead skin cells, usually from the feet, elbows or knees. Although regular use of a pumice stone two to three times every week improves the appearance of the skin, it also relieves discomfort caused by calluses. Use a pumice stone gently670px-Use-a-Pumice-Stone-Step-10-Version-2 and be patient but persistent. A heavy buildup of hard, leathery skin may require several treatments.

Dip the pumice stone in the warm, soapy water, then use the wet stone to rub areas of rough skin gently for two to three minutes. Use light pressure and circular motions to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells. Stop immediately if your skin feels sensitive or sore. Rinse the pumice stone in clear water, then store it in a dry location until the next time you use it.

Footscrub

A foot scrub is a scrub meant for your feet, namely to exfoliate and/or moisturize the skin. Since the skin on feet tends to be coarser than elsewhere, it takes a stronger kind of scrub. It’s great to do this in the summer when you’re likely to be wearing open shoes more often. They also help smoothen and protect feet and refresh arches, toes and heels.

Bubble Bath

A bubble bath is a filled bathtub with a layer of surfactant foam on the surface of the water and consequently also the surfactant product used to produce the foam. Less commonly, aerated or carbonated baths are called bubble baths. If you’re looking to lay in the bath then make sure pour some of this, unless you want to see your dangly bits.

Body lotion

Body lotion is a moisturiser for the body, they are normally lighter in consistency, have a lower oil content, are not lubricating, body lotion
and accommodate all skin types. One primary benefit of a lotion is that it can preserve the moisture already in the skin; products that do this are considered humectants.

Body Scrub

Sometimes cleansing and moisturising is not enough, a luxurious exfoliating body scrub will buff away old skin and stimulate micro-circulation.
Most body scrubs have these three ingredients: (1) An exfoliant. This is the abrasive material like salt, sugar, rice bran, jojoba beads, apricot kernels, coffee grounds, 30097-Moringa-Body-Scrubetc. that rubs away the dead skin cells on the surface, revealing the softer, younger cells just below. (2) Oil. This holds the mixture together so you (or someone else) can apply it to your skin. More expensive body scrubs like Origins Salt Rub (Compare Prices) usually have more expensive oils like macadamia oil, kukui nut oil and sweet almond oil. (3) Fragrance. Ideally, the fragrance comes from high-quality essential oils, like the spearmint and rosemary in the Origins Salt Rub. Budget body scrubs like St. Ives (Compare Prices) will have synthetic fragrances and more synthetic ingredients in general.

Body Butter

Moisturizers known as butters tend to be “heavier and more emollient and have a more luxurious feel as opposed to lotions,” says Hall. body_butterWhen moisturizers contain lubricating ingredients, such as shea butter, and natural oils, such as, coconut, olive and jojoba, “they are occlusive or coat the skin to create a barrier between the skin’s surface and outside elements.,” This “barrier” seals in
moisture as well as protects the skin from environmental impurities and damage from harsh environments. Body butter is composed primarily of oils and butters. Many of these natural oils and butters can penetrating the surface of the skin to help nourish and condition skin. The result is skin that is visibly smoother and silky soft. When included in your daily skin care regime, there simply is no comparison. However The occlusive barrier blocks pores, creating a fertile ground for bacteria and oils to accumulate. so maybe avoid.

Deodorant & AntiPersipirant

Deodorant in general is a product designed only to control odor. Some types of deodorant are also antiperspirants, or will be labeled as both antiperspirant and deodorant. This is an important distinction because a deodorant alone will generally not stop someone from sweating. Antiperspirants, on the other hand, are designed to prevent sweating. Meanwhile Antiperspirants contain active salts which clog the skin pores and prevent the leak out of sweat. But the man must sweat to prevent overheating of the body, therefore frequently use of antiperspirants can damage human health. Another possibility is the use of potassium alum salt, which dissolved on the skin effectively inhibits bacterial growth, so perfectly neutralize the smell of sweat, without disturbing the natural process of sweating.image-012

Body Mists

Eau de toilette –  is a type of perfume spray that is applied to the body to give the wearer a pleasant scent. It is made from a mixture of essential fragrance oils, usually in a solvent base of ethanol and water. This product has a lower concentration of fragrance oils than eau de parfum, though both are considered to be types of perfume. If you’re a  guy I do not recommend it!

Beards

Like the rest of the hair on your head, facial hair needs to be washed regularly or it will quickly come to look like the fur of a dead animal. “Most guys do just fine using a gentle face wash like Dove MenPlus Care Face Wash or even regular hair shampoo,” says Dr. Peterkin. “But it’s very important to fully rinse off any soap residue to avoid drying and flaking.”

For beards that are especially wiry and unruly you might consider using beard oil or balm. They help weigh down any flyaway whiskers and seal moisture into the hair, making it appear shiny and healthy, and feel soft instead of bristly, if you want more specific information, the beard czar will help you find it.

After shampooing, you may use a conditioner. Be sure to rinse thoroughly. Failure to rinse sufficiently may result in flaking. Because beard hairs are so coarse, conditioners will have less effect on the beard than on the hair on your head. But a conditioner will still help make your beard feel softer. Gently pat and wipe your beard dry with a towel. Blow drying is not really necessary and can be harsh on your skin.
